Attending MLB games are fun, especially the Fenway bleachers, but minor league games are just more intimate and casual. The Dell Diamond in Round Rock is quite the homage to ”we can do it like the new MLB parks.” There is a swimming pool area, a kid’s play area complete with basketball court and rock climbing wall, and a row of rocking chairs before the grand stands in left. But it also has the small time attributes as well. There are berms to lay about on beyond both the left and right field fences and anytime a train comes barreling by the horns are blaring.
The game itself got off to a great start for the home team. The Express went up 4-1 in the first. By the time the 9th started and we departed the score was a lopsided 11-4. Solid baseball, cheap tickets, overpriced ballpark food, entertaining conversation with friends, and coupons for free wings at Pluckers equals a solid few hours of Sunday night fun!
