We’re surrounded by technology. The TV, high speed internet, cell phones, and Ipods take up a large portion of our time. What ever happened to the days when our imaginations ran free and time with technology was limited? Sure, we watched TV when we were kids- at night for an hour or two. And remember when the internet came around? It slowly crept into our households. Cell phones didn’t become an extra appendage until we hit the 21st century and Ipods are truly new to the scene in comparison.
Now, we love technology… a lot. Which is exactly why our brains and bodies have started to ask for more. The beauty and goodness in life can be glimpsed in a movie or heard in a song but only truly felt when lived in person. How many days of our lives have slipped by masked by the ideas of fun that we think we’re having? Why not truly have fun every day? This is why we have challenged ourselves to throw back the couch potato exterior and open the doors to live.
How you ask? A jar of fun. A simple concept that we hope will make a large impact on our lives. We sat down and brainstormed a list of fun things to do in the house, around town, and in the surrounding area. Once a day we will randomly select something from the jar and have fun with it. Some are old childhood favorites, some we’ve never done before, and some are just plain silly. Tomorrow, the fun begins!
This is AWESOME. So inspirational, even just reading. I close my eyes and transport myself into all of your happiness, living vicariously through your trips, walks, rides, eating, living. How wonderful. Your blog is heading straight to the LPE blogroll so I can check back in every day. Much love, APB
